Hello In Stitches family! Welcome back! Today we want to talk about company apparel for employees. We’re going to learn about WHY you need gear for your crew and WHAT options you have for spring and summer!
Can I just tell you a quick story that happened to me a couple of weeks ago? I was sitting at a stop light and noticed 2 guys fiddling with a manhole cover that was on the side of the road. As I sat at the light, they opened the cover and climbed down. While I was driving away, I thought, “I wonder if they were supposed to go down there.” They didn’t have anything that showed that they worked for a utility crew. Had they had matching company gear, then I wouldn’t have thought twice!
That’s one really great reason why your crew needs company gear.
Another reason is professionalism. I know I always feel better when I hire a company to work on my property and the crew comes with logos on their hats or shirts! It just feels like they have all their stuff together and will do a good job.
With spring here and summer coming close behind, you may be looking for what gear would be best for your employees. This time of year, layers are where it’s at! It could be freezing in the morning and by afternoon, it could be 80 degrees!
Let’s start at the top! We have hats!
There are two kinds of hats that we recommend. Mesh backed ones that offer shade but have a little airflow in the back.
Or, we have no mesh backed ones that are better for the, shall we say, crew members who are a little light in the hair department. A burned head is never fun!
We have t-shirts, both long and short sleeved! This choice is very popular among our customers! When purchasing t-shirts, you need to think about what they’re made of and if it works with what job you’re doing.
There are 100% cotton shirts. These shirts are a little more expensive but they are breathable which makes them cooler. They are great for people with sensitive skin because they’re hypoallergenic. If you work with electricity, 100% cotton shirts don’t produce static shock, which is important. They last forever and they don’t hold in the smell!
We also carry 50/50 cotton/polyester blend shirts. They are breathable just like the 100% cotton but they are more tear-resistant. They cost less than 100% cotton shirts but still are very comfortable. They also don’t shrink like 100% shirts do, which is very nice!
Now, let’s talk sweatshirts! Everyone’s favorite, right? We have 9 oz sweatshirts that are perfect for fall and winter but for right now, we recommend the 7.8 oz ones. We carry both 100% cotton and 50/50 cotton/polyester blends.
The pullover hooded sweatshirt is by far our most popular type but we also carry full zip, crew neck, ¼ zip and ½ zip ones. Don’t worry! We can help you choose which one will be best for your crew!
We are your custom embroidery store in Rapid City, South Dakota and beyond! Give us a call to find out about our packages!
Be sure to ask about our Day Labor, Tall Size, and Owners Bundles as well!
Now that you’re thinking, “I might need some gear for my crew,” let me remind you that for the month of April, we are waiving the fee to set up a webstore. What’s a webstore? It’s all explained here! You’re going to love it!
